VET stakeholders and practitioners from across Europe came together in October for the fourth European Vocational Skills Week.
Approximately 40 events, conferences and site visits to employers explored this year’s theme of ‘VET for All – Skills for Life’. Participants debated topics such as VET excellence; successful approaches to upskilling and reskilling pathways; career guidance; validation and the role of teachers and trainers.
The week also included the 2019 Vocational Excellence Awards. Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility, presented the awards that recognised excellence in VET in the categories of people, organisations and projects.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the ‘VETExpo – Stepping into the Future’ exhibition. This showcased how digitalisation can improve and support learning environments. Watch the VETExpo video here.
In parallel, over 1,400 events and activities took place across 46 countries. Events are still taking place across Europe until 31 December 2019.
