How to validate transversal skills acquired through volunteering

The Peer Learning Activity (PLA) on the validation of transversal skills and other competences acquired through volunteering, brought together 50 participants from NGOs, European Institutions, national governments and research centres.

The event, organised by the Lifelong Learning Platform and the European Volunteer Centre with support from Cedefop, allowed participants to explore different validation approaches as well as the  challenges of recognising skills acquired through non-formal learning, such as volunteering.

The PLA concluded that there should be better coordination between different frameworks, such as Key Competencies for Lifelong Learning, ESCO, UNESCO dimensions of learning and others.
